      The Rocks Food & Wine Famil

      The World Loves Sydney (Leo and Christine) was invited to an exclusive famil to experience some of The Rocks finest establishments. The Rocks is unlike anywhere else in Sydney. It has a unique pace and mood, one that allows you to relax and take your time. Like a craft, our first village has been handed down over the years, with each generation finding and nurturing their own interpretation. It’s much more than its beautiful architecture and vibrant culture. It’s a place with heart and soul, shaped by people from the past and embraced by people of today. It’s a place that has been built by hand. It’s eclectic, charming and brimming with stories waiting to be told.

      On the Cnr Mill and Kendall Lane, The Rocks,  The Fine Food Store was first opened in 2004 by the owners Richard Rendell & Detlef Haupt. It has recently been renovated inspired by Brooklyn styled cafés. They offer 5 SENSES highest standard coffee, homestyle breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as craft beer & wine. Famous for their fragrant brews and delicious menu. This cool and contemporary café offers a succinct menu of fresh and tasty offerings from braised-pork sliders to salmon gravlax with fennel salad.

      Pony Lounge & Dining

      Modern Australian Cuisine prepared on an Argentinean wood fire grill is compelling dining. Before the restaurant designer Michael McCann transformed the historic building into the unique dining space it is today, the venue was a former bond warehouse.

      Pony offers an honest flavour driven menu showcasing Australian produce and a great selection of local and imported beers and wines. The restaurant features a large open kitchen with a pony hide clad counter, a 10 meter long dining table on the outdoor deck, an intimate lounge for pre-dinner drinks, heritage brick walls, and commissioned woven art hangings.

      We've stayed at this bespoke hotel and love it. A combination of heritage charm and the latest in modern style, Scarlett brings together two beautiful worlds in one unique dining venue. Harbour Rocks Hotel is part of the MGallery collection of hotels and features a killer library in the lobby and fabulous suites with views. Scarlett Restaurant is intimate and boutique. Stop for a drink in Eric's Bar then make your way down the stairs to Scarlett Restaurant.

      Pei Modern by renowned Australian chef Mark Best delivers bistro-style dining with a menu celebrating fresh, local seasonal produce and exploring unconventional food pairings. It's iconic on the Australian culinary landscape. We imbibed this Bitter chocolate tart with cumquat jam (above) for a standout dessert dish.

      Josephine Pignolet Award recipient, Lauren Eldridge has joined Pei Modern Sydney as Head Pastry Chef, working with Executive Chef Mark Best and Head Chef Joachim Borenius. It was awesome for us to meet her! Fresh from the kitchen of World’s Best Restaurant, Osteria Francescana in Italy, Lauren brings her signature style of bright, contemporary and visually impactful desserts.
