 Mad Mex 2

Mexicans love a festival! Think Independence, Cinca De mayo, Day of the Dead... Mad Mex encapsulates a sense of celebration and festivity. The food is fresh and they go the extra mile in terms of authenticity.

According to the website - Mad Mex offers Australia’s most authentic Mexican cuisine, with a Baja Californian-inspired menu of delicious and nutritious burritos, nachos, quesadillas and more all prepared with only the freshest ingredients and served in a fast casual format that can be prepared to dine in or takeaway.

We were invited to Mad Mex to sample the food - Baha style Mexican food and to check out their interesting story. These guys have been since 2007 in Aust starting in Darlinghurst...

Mad Mex has a modern look We admired the Corona chandelier and Mask on the wall...

A big deal at Mad Mex - food is customizable! You get to choose what you want in never ending combinations based on core products. Customise your burritos or tacos.

Mad Mex are also about healthier food - not everyone knows they use rice bran oil - good for the heart! And brown rice!

This is ostensibly Australia's most loved Mexican brand.

A cool thing about Mad Mex is that they promote Mexican culture. Not just food! Several of the staff had connections to Mexico. And there seems to be a great cameraderie and family feel among staff.

Mexican food getting better in Sydney. The aim is to be authentic. Unlike Australia there is virtually no sour cream in Mexico. Customers can enjoy it here - but that's more the tex mex style.

Mad Mex 3

Mexican food is healthy with fresh ingredients! Corn maze is healthy. Mad Mex is about freshness and authenticity and nuances - more than just about tacos and nachos...

Pacifico beer has to now be a favourite of mine - usually I drink Corona. Cerveza means beer in case you didn't know. Clara means light.

We enjoyed Corn chips and guacamole followed by a massive burrito (they even let us customise our own behind the counter)... Soft flour tortilla's were delicious, with compelling fillings. I chose a hit of heat to taste.
Having been to Mexico we find Mad Mex an excellent option and a company that is passionate and pays attention to detail.
