Steel Bar and Grill is a chic Argentinian restaurant near the Menzies Hotel in the Sydney CBD on Carrington St. For those who are carnivores it's a haven. Check out the modern fit out with extraordinary use of textures including steel mesh, concrete walls, glass doors, polished timber floor, funky lighting, semi industrial looking ceiling and great use of colour, notably blue. Also check out the covered deck - very cool on a warm night.

One of Sydney's best decors?
Steel Bar and Grill boasts a long sleek if not spectacular bar area with latest cocktails.
I sat at a table all by myself checking out the various dining areas within the restaurant. Plenty of options. The waiter poured me water on arrival and handed me the menu. This is dude food central with style.
Steel Bar and Grill lives up to its name with the steel component but also the grill is outstanding with your meat fired over iron bark timber in customary Argentinian grill fashion. I enjoyed the special lamb rump pictured above. Sorry about the hazy lighting in the shot. But you can see the glistening lamb cooked perfectly, caramelised on the outside and slightly rare inside. The lamb was the hero with a mash and a killer sauce.

Amazing tender meat from the wood oven grill. And superb with wine.
Highly recommended.
